Football Recruiting Notes

  • 2015 Mission Hills DB DeChaun Holiday is taking his 1st official visit to the University of Oklahoma this weekend. Many think the UCLA and USC are the leaders for Holiday.
  • 2015 St. Augustine DB Frank Buncom IV was scheduled to take an official visit to Cal this weekend, but had to cancel due to injuring his knee during the CIF Championship. Buncom has previously taken official visits to Notre Dame and Vanderbilt, and plans to visit Stanford in January.
  • 2015 Del Norte DB Quenton Meeks has taken official visits to Cal and Vanderbilt. He has talked about taking visits to Washington and Stanford, but nothing has been planned. He previously stated that he would like to make a college decision before Christmas, but yesterday told me that he has no timetable as of now.
  • 2015 St. Augustine OL Chris Gesell picked up an offer from Dartmouth during an in-中国福利彩票正版app visit last week and is taking an official visit to Yale this weekend.
  • 2015 Madison QB Kareem Coles decommitted from Utah State this morning, after the coaching staff suggested that he play a position other than QB. UNLV along with several FCS programs had previously offered, but the Runnin’ Rebels now have a new coaching staff.
  • 2015 Granite Hills QB Seth Collins, a San Jose State commit, is taking his official visit this weekend. He is planning to enroll early, and be ready for spring practice with the Spartans.
  • 2015 Vista DT Mau Ena, a Montana commit, is still committed to the Grizzlies but is exploring taking other visits after the recent coaching change.
  • 2016 Mission Hills ATH Troy Warner picked up his 2nd offer from Boston College中国福利彩票正版app a few weeks back. His brother Fred had a big freshman season at BYU, and the Cougars were the 1st to offer Troy.
  • 2015 San Marcos OT Kevin Estes, a Wisconsin commit, told me that he needed to speak with his family before making any comments about the departure of Badger head coach Gary Andersen.
  • 2015 Oceanside DE Tommy Woo and OL Christian Cronk made verbal commitments to Hawaii before the season, but stated they were soft commitments and still plan to look around and take visits. I expect those visits to begin once the Pirates finish their season in the state playoffs.
  • Cathedral Catholic added their 3rd and 4th commits when OL Jacob Van de Grift decided to commit to Yale and LB Jack Onstott decided to commit to the US Naval Academy.
